Real gold necklace? Or did I get ripped off?

I’m currently stationed overseas in the Desert and purchased a "gold" necklace and earrings from one of the local markets for a little lady back home. Even though I managed to talk the guy down for a 60% savings, I still worry because another shop owner ripped me off with some cologne. A friend said to look for some sort of marking on the necklace and earrings and I ended up finding a "FL" on all three pieces. Can anyone offer me any sort of explaination as to what these letters mean?

as u know that there is not so much profit for gold jewelry for the jewelers. so i do not think any jeweler will can customers 60% less for any pcs except they over-charge u too too much!

all gold jewelries used to be stamped with 18K, 14K, etc to show the percentage of fine gold in this pc as usual. meanwhile, some company will stamp their logo on the pc.

according to what your explaination, i think:

1. it is not real gold pc. you could send it to a jeweler and ask them to help u to check it.

2. " FL" can be a mark who make this pc!

i m a jeweler from china. u r welcome to contact me for any questions about jewelry.

usually gold has numbers on it like 916,750,583 and such it is to tell us the carat of your gold. but if you have doubt maybe you can take them to a gold shop and have them confirmed for you.
